It was a great privilege to attend the GDN’s CO Competition in Parliament last week and see the excellent work by children all around the country in highlighting the dangers of CO2.
This is an issue I have championed throughout my parliamentary career and I am a keen supporter of The Dominic Rogers Trust and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Carbon Monoxide
With no smell or visible presence, the only way to detect the dangerous gas is through an audible alarm. Awareness of this easily forgotten step is vital in saving lives from preventable deaths.
It was brilliant to see awareness on the issue being spread to even our youngest. I greatly enjoyed seeing the variety of outstanding entries (from poems to drawings) from children across the country. Events such as these are a joy to host and be a part of.
